Our heart is to see people come to understand the immeasurable love of God and for their lives to be transformed by the good news of Jesus and all of the peace and joy that He brings, by the power of His Holy Spirit. It is our experience and deep conviction that this is good news, not just for the individuals, but for whole families and communities, because, as we truly understand and receive God's love, we love our neighbours and communities even more in response.
As Jesus' beloved disciple John wrote to the early church:
"We love because he first loved us." 1 John 4:19
We are working in friendship with the churches of St Nicholas and St Mary's, which offer more traditional services and therefore, you will note that we are meeting on alternative weeks to the Anglican services where possible.
Our fellowship is being led by Ellie and Jean-Paul, or JP as many people call me! We moved to the delightful village of Kennett in February 2025 with our three kids and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know members of the local community and the local churches...shout out to the Twinkles Toddler group in St Mary's, Kentford, the fun day in St Nicholas, Kennett, Bubble Church in St Christopher's, Red Lodge, and our co-volunteers at the Kennett Community Coffee Morning!
We have been encouraged in meeting with the vicars of St Nicholas and St Mary's and the Lightwave team in Red Lodge, by their faith and friendship. There is an open-hearted willingness to work together across churches and this is a very precious thing. In the Psalms, which is a songbook in the middle of the Bible, we find these beautiful verses:
"How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
...For there the Lord bestows his blessing,
even life forevermore." Psalm 131 verses 1 and 3b (NIV)
We have been a part of the leadership of Kingsgate Church, Bury St Edmunds for a number of years now. Jean-Paul serves as an elder in Kingsgate and Ellie is the Children's minister there and writes a children's ministry resource website called www.jesusdiscovery.uk. We also both have backgrounds in youth ministry. Bringing together our various experiences and the gifts and talents of willing friends and family, what we feel we can bring to the spiritual landscape of the villages is a contemporary service that will build community and serve all ages.
We do hope you will join us at one of the KKCF services!
With love,
Ellie and JP
As a family, we have connected with a very dear family (pictured above) who live and work in Bolivia, building a mission centre to rehabilitate children and families that are homeless and/or orphaned. We went out to Bolivia in 2024 to visit them and they came to visit us here in humble Kennett early in the Summer of 2026. We showed them around the village and they prayed blessing over us and the village here. We support them financially as a family and we would love from the outset to support them as a Christian Fellowship.
Therefore, we aim to allocate 10% of general donations to Kennett and Kentford Christian Fellowship to Relational Mission Bolivia. You can find out more about the wonderful work that Isaac and Anali are doing on their website here. As we set out, we will be operating under the charity governance of Kingsgate Church Trust (Charity No. 1087562). Therefore, to donate, please follow the instructions on Kingsgate's webpage here and put in your donation reference "KKCF".
You can read more about Isaac and Anali's work here on their latest newsletter.
For I will pour water on the thirsty land,
and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring,
and my blessing on your descendants.
They shall spring up among the grass
like willows by flowing streams.
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for all matters of Christian faith and living. It is our infallible guide for truth and our foundation for knowing God.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-equal in power and glory, working together in perfect unity to accomplish the divine purpose.
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was bodily resurrected, and ascended to Heaven, where He reigns as King and Intercessor.
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned by human effort or good works. Through repentance and trust in Christ, individuals are forgiven, justified, and reconciled to God.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the believer, and dwells within them to provide power for holy living. We believe in the ongoing ministry of the Spirit, who equips the Church with spiritual gifts.
The Church is the universal body of Christ, comprised of all who believe in Him. Its purpose is to worship God, nurture believers toward spiritual maturity, and represent God’s kingdom on earth through love and service.
We practice water baptism of believers as an outward sign of an inward transformation and a public declaration of faith. Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper) is an act of obedience whereby we remember Christ’s death for our sins and celebrate our union with Him.
We are called to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel with all people. The role of the Church is to demonstrate God's love through both word and deed, making disciples and seeking the spiritual and social transformation of our communities.
Believers are called to live a life of holiness, characterized by love for God and others. This involves regular prayer, the study of Scripture, fellowship with other believers, and a commitment to reflecting the character of Christ in every area of life.
We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment. We look forward to the eternal joy of the redeemed in the presence of God in a new heaven and a new earth.
